There’s good news for the film buffs in Technopark. Natana, the cultural club of Technopark, is all set to launch a film club for the techie community. Renowned director Amal Neerad is expected to inaugurate the film club on June 21.

Technopark has a number of employees who are passionate about the various facets of films. In fact, a few of them have made short films. Also, a lot of films have come up with techie lifestyle as their background. After successfully organising various cultural programmes and training classes on arts, Natana is making another popular move with the launch of the film club.

Natana, launched almost two years ago with the objective of nurturing the artistic talents and creative aspirations of IT professionals, has plans to organise various programmes for the film club.

Anoop P Ambika, founder of Natana and CEO, Kreara Solutions, said the team Natana has a number of plans in its kitty. “We plan to conduct regular screening of movies on the campus. Many IT employees are interested in various aspects of movies like cinematography, editing, direction etc. So, screening will be a learning process too,” he said.

Another plan is to arrange interactions with members of the film fraternity. Natana organisers believe the interaction will help the participants clear doubts and generate interest in various stages of film-making.

The wannabe directors in the techie community will get a golden opportunity as Natana has plans to arrange screening of films made by the techies. As a long-term plan, Natana organisers might arrange film festivals focusing on technical themes.

Now, Renjith Shankar, director of ‘Passenger’ and ‘Arjunan Sakshi’, is the lone director from techie community. With the launch of the film club, Mollywood can hope for more.
