KSTP-II: Tender proceedings for three roads soon

As a first step to begin the tender proceedings for the second phase of Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP), PWD officials will publish the general procurement notice within two days.
 The department will soon begin tender proceedings for three roads  - 27.76-km Kasargod-Kanjangad, 20.9-km Pilathara -Pappinissery and 4.5-km Thaliparamba-Iritty roads - under KSTP Phase II. This was decided during the meeting of World Bank officials with PWD Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju here on Saturday.
 The World Bank team left on Saturday after a five-day visit to the state to review the project. During these days, the team, led by senior economist Simon Ellis, held discussions with Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju, Chief Secretary K Jayakumar, PWD Secretary P H Kurian, KSTP project director Joseph Mathew and chief engineer Pennamma. It was also decided to begin tender proceedings for the Main Central road in two months.
 The second phase of KSTP aims at upgrading and widening 367-kms of state highways and major district roads. Other roads to be developed under the project are: Thalasserry-Valavupara, Chengannur-Ettumanoor-Muvattupuzha (MC Road), Punalur- Ponkunnam-Thodupuzha and Perumbilavu- Pattambi-Perinthalmanna.
